Training Opportunities

Are you looking to gain a new skill? Whether you are entering the workforce, changing careers and looking to grow in your current field there are resources available for you. There are many free or low-cost training options online or in your local community. Options range from brushing up on basic skills such as English, math, or computers, to mastering specialized skills such as software programs. Many of these training options can lead to a certificate award in less than two years. Having a certificate in your field can help you qualify for a job, get a promotion, or earn more money.

Join us for a FREE training program designed to prepare you for today’s jobs in the warehousing and distribution industry. Become OSHA and Forklift certified at no cost to you! Must be 18 or older. We have these training periodically throughout the year. Fill out out interest form and we will contact you when another one is about to begin!

Our Microsoft Office Training is a program through TestGenius that provides interactive, self-paced modules that guide you through the different aspects of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook. The modules can be accessed and completed at your leisure, there is no time-limit. You can see the break down of each module here. There is a one time fee of $60 and you will have access to all the modules listed. At the end, you will take a test to determine your competency and we will send you your certificate. Please call us at 925-416-5100 to pay over the phone and gain access to the program.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) helps job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market. WIOA also matches employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy. Enroll in our WIOA program and receive:

  • Scholarships for vocational training certificates in growth industries. (Examples: truck driving, medical assistant, project manager, digital marketing, human resource management, accounting, data analytics, UX Design, etc.)
  • Help paying for industry-recognized exams (e.g. PMP, NREMT, COMPTIA A+, CISSP, etc.)
  • Help paying for interview clothes, and transportation to new job/ training
  • Free one-on-one career advising and job search assistance

CLPCCD has an apprenticeship division! Apprenticeships offer free training to the apprentice. Apprentices are employed from their first day and receive automatic pay increases as they progress through the program. Apprenticeships can be found in a wide variety of industries as well as the well-established construction fields. 92% of apprentices retain employment when their program is complete.
